SALVATORE OLIVA

Salvatore Oliva is an accomplished Pediatrician and Pediatric Gastroenterologist who serves as an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Pediatric Gastroenterology and Liver Unit, Sapienza – University of Rome. With over a decade of experience, he has authored more than 140 manuscripts and 20 book chapters that have been published in esteemed international peer-reviewed journals, focusing primarily on the fields of Pediatric Gastroenterology, IBD, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and EGIDs. Prof. Oliva is a full member of the European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) and participates in several of its working groups, including the Endoscopy Working Group, Eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders WG (EGDIs), HP SIG, and the IBD Interest Group. Currently, Prof. Oliva is leading several significant initiatives, including the European Prospective Pediatric Registry of Eosinophilic Esophagitis (pEEr) and The Pediatric Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disorders Biobank (PEGID-BB) on behalf of ESPGHAN. He has also been a visiting scientist at Cincinnati Center for Eosinophilic Disorders, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (Ohio, USA), and is a member of the steering committee of the EUREOS as a pediatric officer since 2020. Additionally, he is a member of the Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Researchers (CEGIR) as a recipient of the CEGIR training award 2022.
